Aquatec delivered one of the key upgrades to the Aubinville Sewage Treatment Plant - a new raw sewage pumping station at the plant’s inlet and a new septage receival pump station.
Modernisation works to the Aubinville Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)
A commitment to maintaining standards determined Fraser Coast Regional Council to invest more than $26 million in modernising the equipment and facilities at Maryborough’s only sewage treatment plant, the Aubinville STP.
The Aubinville Treatment Plant caters to over 23,000 residents and commercial and industrial properties linked to Maryborough’s sewage collection system.
Aquatec delivered one of the key upgrades: a new raw sewage pumping station and new inlet works to improve screenings and remove materials and grit.
“Fraser Coast Regional Council have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Aquatec on a number of projects. The Council is confident that the infrastructure solutions supplied by Aquatec will continue to perform at a high level through to the end of their nominal design lives and, in all likelihood, will continue to perform at a high level well past the nominal design life.”

A system that will prolong the wastewater equipment’s operational lifespan
The system we designed, installed, and delivered comprised of:
- 1 x 5000mmØ x 6900mm deep mould formed Engineered heavy-duty fibreglass pumping chamber with integral baffle and weir. Housing 4 x 4 18 Kw Submersible Pumps and above-ground discharge manifold, valving, and flow meter,
- 1 x 4000mmØ x 4750mm deep mould-formed heavy-duty fibreglass pumping chamber. Housing 2 x 2.4 kw submersible pumps and above-ground discharge manifold and valving.
The water pumping station weights approximately 10 tonnes and will pump over 385L/s of raw sewage into the inlet works.
With decades of experience collaborating with water authorities, Aquatec has been a trusted provider of wastewater products for major infrastructure projects. Our comprehensive end-to-end methodology has enabled us to successfully deliver this project.
